Alix Long
Physiotherapist
Alix is a bilingual physiotherapist (English/French) who graduated from the School of Health and Sciences in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2015 with a degree in Physiotherapy. She brings over a decade of clinical experience, including several years at Geneva University Hospital—Switzerland’s largest healthcare system—where she specialized in the rehabilitation of complex neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, and post-operative spinal care.
With a strong foundation in both neurological and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Alix offers a comprehensive and personalized approach to treatment. She is a certified APPI Pilates instructor and often incorporates Pilates-based exercises to support recovery, improve mobility, and enhance body awareness. She is also a strong advocate for aquatic therapy, which she uses effectively to support patients at all stages of rehabilitation.
Alix is committed to ongoing professional development and is passionate about helping her patients return to full function with confidence. She provides treatment in the clinic, at home, and through in-patient consultations, depending on each patient’s needs.
Alix has Worked in the Neuro-Rehabilitation Department, in Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), Geneva, Switzerland providing specialized care to patients with neurological conditions such as stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic), traumatic brain injury, brain tumors/post-surgical recovery, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, and post-operative spinal conditions.
She is experienced in hospital-wide physiotherapy coverage, treating patients across various departments including traumatology, orthopedics, internal medicine or cardiovascular / pulmonary care, delivering responsive and effective acute care rehabilitation services.
When she’s not working with patients, Alix enjoys Pilates and spending time with her three children.
