Sarah Dinyer

Physiotherapist

Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Kansas and then went on to graduate from the University of Kansas Medical Center with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015. Sarah has 5 years of experience treating a wide variety of conditions both in the US and in Grand Cayman. Movement is medicine – and Sarah is passionate about assisting clients back to living their lives after injury using a multi-faceted approach including: exercise prescription, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, scar massage, compression therapy, splint/contracture management, joint mobilization, kinesiotaping, and active release techniques.

Sarah grew up active in multiple sports including soccer, cross county, and the equestrian sport of hunter/jumper. As an adult she has completed multiple half marathons and one full marathon and considers herself a running enthusiast. More recently she developed a passion for rowing and high- intensity interval training. All of these athletic areas have led to a passion for treating sports related and orthopedic injuries. She has her certification for mat level Pilates and incorporates these exercises into her treatments.

Sarah worked within a large hospital in the Kansas City area for four years treating a wide range of traumatic, orthopedic and neurological injuries as well as cardiopulmonary and degenerative conditions. Eventually she went on to became the lead physical therapist within the burn unit. Here she treated all individuals admitted to the hospital with burns, from infants to the elderly, at all stages of healing, and of all different severities.

Since arriving in Cayman, she has been able to develop her passion for working with sports related injuries, orthopedic surgeries, and musculoskeletal conditions. She has extensive experience in the treatment of sports related injuries seeing clients for complaints ranging from tennis elbow to hip replacements to meniscal tears. In addition, she has completed numerous onsite ergonomic assessments for office workers and has developed a particular passion for conducting home visits with those within the local community who have complex conditions preventing them from leaving their homes.
