Ronnie Power

MSc. Physiotherapy

Originally from Canada, Ronnie Graduated with his MSc. Physiotherapy Honors Degree in 2016 from Glasgow Caledonian University in the UK. Prior to that, he received his BSc. in Kinesiology from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Ronnie’s passion for Physiotherapy stems from growing up playing competitive sports and leading an active lifestyle, because of this he has a keen interest in musculoskeletal and neuromusculoskeletal conditions. He takes great pride in helping others overcome their injuries, restore his patient’s quality of life, and help them achieve their most ambitious health and fitness goals.

Throughout Ronnie’s career as a physiotherapist, he has been fortunate to work with a wide variety of physiotherapy conditions, from acute sport and activity-related injuries to chronic complex neuromusculoskeletal conditions and working with professional and amateur athletes from diverse backgrounds. Ronnie’s assessment and treatment approach focuses on evaluating the individual’s movement patterns to identify the root cause of their symptoms. He uses a manual therapy approach to correct these movement patterns, accompanied by tailored exercise prescription to facilitate correct and pain-free movement patterns.

Ronnie strongly believes in patient education and insists that if the individual is better able to understand their condition it will allow them to take full advantage of his therapy techniques and apply that to their recovery process.

In addition to being a manual therapist Ronnie is also certified in the following areas of physiotherapy practice:

·        Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Health Care Practitioner

·        Thoracic manual and manipulative therapy

·        Sarhmann movement impairment assessment & treatment techniques

·        Trigger Point Dry Needling

·        Intermuscular Electrical Stimulation (IMES)

·        Therapeutic Ultrasound

·        Infrared Laser therapy

Away from Ronnie’s clinical practice he enjoys staying active with sport and running, he is an enthusiastic sailor both for leisure and competing in sailing regattas. Or can be found exploring all that the Island has to offer with his partner Ashley and their Labrador Retriever Tiller.
