Melany's passion for physiotherapy blossomed at the age of 15, fueled by her love for sports, particularly basketball, and her fascination with medicine.

In 2021, Melany proudly graduated with honours from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, earning a Bachelor of Physical Therapy.

Her professional development began with extensive medical training at Health City Cayman Islands between 2018 and 2022. Throughout her tenure, Melany has honed her expertise across various domains of physiotherapy, distinguishing herself in the treatment of intensive care unit patients, orthopaedic surgeries, neurosurgery, and sports-related injuries.

Melany's approach to physiotherapy is deeply rooted in her belief that practitioners are indeed 'movement specialists.' She highlights a hands-on methodology, empowering her patients to unlock their full potential through tailored interventions. From personalised exercise regimens to advanced techniques like myofascial release and electrical stimulation, she leverages an array of modalities to facilitate recovery. Moreover, Melany prioritises patient education, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their condition and fostering active participation in the healing process.

Beyond clinical practice, Melany channels her expertise into mentoring aspiring professionals through Health City's SURF Program, nurturing the next generation of medical talent. As a team physiotherapist for the Tigers Football Club, Melany extends her expertise to sports medicine, aiding athletes in injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Melany loves spending time outdoors when she's not working, especially by the water, whether enjoying water sports with her family or simply soaking up the sun.
